NIGHT OF WORSHIP

Let’s lift up God’s name together! We gather on the second Wednesday each month at the Rockrimmon campus at 6:30 PM for a church-wide night of worship and prayer. Join us on December 10, as we proclaim the story of God’s rescuing love in song. In this Advent season, we’ll remind one another of who He is and what He’s done to bring us new life. As God’s people, we’ll listen to His voice and respond to His presence.

ABLE: Hope for the Future. Love for the City.

ABLE is fueling ministry and reducing debt. Less than one year into the funding initiative, we’re excited to report that we’ve received $2,900,000 in giving. Thanks to your generosity, we’re off to a solid start toward the $10,000,000, three-year goal.

And we’re already seeing results! We’ve reduced our long-term debt obligation by $1,940,000. And thanks to your gifts toward ABLE, Woodmen Downtown is off to an amazing start. Attendance has doubled from our previous location, as more people experience the life-changing love of Jesus each week.

ABOVE AND BEYOND

Our year-end Able Initiative goal is to reach the $3,300,000 mark by December 31. And thanks to a few generous lead-gifts from faithful donors, we received $240,000 in just the last two weeks! Only $400,000 remaining to reach our goal. There are thousands of us who call Woodmen home, and if we each do our part, we’ll get there together!

Hitting $3,300,000 by year-end will keep us moving forward with debt reduction and set the stage for the second phase of renovations at Woodmen Downtown. Improvements in kids and students spaces are next on the list. And great things are still ahead for our downtown community, including a coffee shop to foster hope-filled conversations and caring relationships with friends and neighbors.

Year end is a great time to consider an above-and-beyond gift, as we give back to God for His blessings in our lives. Will you ask the Lord how you might participate in Able this December? We’re excited for the story He is writing through the faithfulness of the people of Woodmen, and for our kingdom impact in the decades to come.

Advent Calendar

Do you hate to wait? Whether it’s instant oatmeal, on-demand TV, we want it now. And the weeks leading up to Christmas only accelerate the pace of life. Yet the rhythm of real relationship with the God of eternity cannot be rushed. We hope you’ll join us on an advent calendar journey. It’s an invitation to slow down and center our hearts on Christ. In each weekly calendar, you’ll find a brief thought, song or video devotional for each day. As we wait in expectation, let our souls join the refrain of God’s people throughout the centuries proclaiming, “Come, Lord Jesus. Come.”

ELDER UPDATE

We're excited to introduce Steve Rodny as a candidate for Woodmen’s Elder Council. Please watch the video above to hear from Pastor Josh and Steve.

Steve and his wife, Patty have been married for 30 years and have four adult children. They have been involved with Woodmen since 2011 and attend the Downtown campus. They currently lead a 20s community group and host the Air Academy chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). At Woodmen Downtown, Steve serves as an usher and Patty serves in Connect Central. Steve has worked as a Wealth Manager for Fidelity for 27 years and Patty currently serves as the director for Woodmen’s Acts Ministry. The Rodneys love spending time with their kids in the mountains skiing, biking and hiking.

As part of our Elder selection process, over the next three months we invite you to contact Steve directly if you have a concern about any area in his life which does not align with the Biblical standards for elders outlined in Titus, chapter 1 and First Timothy, chapter 3. If, after giving him an opportunity to respond, you feel that there is a concern that remains unresolved, please reach out to: pastors@woodmenvalley.org
