BACKPACK BASH

It seems like summer is just getting started, but parents and kids will be in back-to-school mode again before you know it. You can help a child thrive in the coming year by participating in the Backpack Bash. This year, our friends at COSILoveYou are providing all the school supplies, and we’re looking for you to donate backpacks. Along with more than 60 other local churches, we can meet this need and help thousands of local kids start the school year off right. You can drop off a backpack or two as you come to worship any time over the next three weekends.

MAKE A CONNECTION

Summer is the perfect time to meet up with a Woodmen Connect Group! These casual groups come together around a shared interest—no big commitment or homework, just a spot to have fun and maybe make a like-minded friend or two. There are groups for outdoor folks: hikers, golfers, runners and climbers. You’ll also find groups centered around step-families, widows, folks new to America, or parents and kids ready to play at the park. Check out all the options and find your group by clicking below!

Online Book Club

We Get it. You want to grow in the way of Jesus, but life is so busy. Or maybe you’re traveling a ton this summer. Our online Book Club might be just the thing. Together, we’ll read a Bible-based book in a small cohort setting. Participation takes place exclusively through the Woodmen App. You set your schedule so you never miss a meeting. You’ll read the book, respond to discussion posts, and interact with fellow participants. Woodmen staff will guide the discussion and support you as you learn alongside others. Our book this summer is The New Testament in Seven Sentences.

BACKYARD SUMMER CAMP

In the spirit of our Sabbath Year, we’re reimagining Kid’s Summer Day Camp for 2024. Instead of a big, on-campus event, parents and kids will have the opportunity to share the hope of Christ with friends and neighbors through hosting their very own Backyard Summer Camp. With minimal prep time, easy-to-follow instructions and step-by-step videos, this free camp is designed for families to share with friends at home.

Families will receive all the digital content to host a camp whenever and wherever they choose. You can customize the experience to meet your needs: follow the suggested three-day format, complete the camp in one to two days, or just use it as a starting point to get your wheels turning. This could be a great opportunity for neighbors to host a camp together or for grandparents to share God’s love with the next generation!

We’re excited about the ways God will move as kids in backyards across our city discover God’s love in wonderful ways!
