Military Ministry

We salute you!

Colorado Springs is the proud home of many military installations. With that pride comes the recognition that our military men and women and their families have unique gifts and challenges as they serve our country. Our military ministry is a place for both civilians and military families to gather for prayer, encouragement, and support. We would be honored to assist you and your family in connecting at Woodmen. If you are deploying or your spouse is deployed, please contact us so we can support and maintain contact with you.

Upcoming Events

You are welcome at Woodmen, where your service is recognized and honored. Here you can grow in faith, experience community, be nurtured, and serve. We desire to be a part of helping you to strengthen your walk with Christ. Whether you are the spouse of a deployed service member, are recovering from the trauma of war, are in need of help as you transition out of the military, or looking for community in a new city, we exist to help you grow spiritually, care for the needs of your family, and provide wise counsel.

Serve in Military Ministry

There are many opportunities to serve our military members and their families attending Woodmen Valley. Members of the military family are also encouraged to serve. If you have a heart to serve, especially our military family, contact the Military Ministry: 719.388.4961

Welcome Team: Military life is defined with frequent moves that have an emotional and physical impact. It is critical that we welcome and assist our military in becoming assimilated as soon as possible. The Welcome Team “Scouts” out new arrivals contacts them and follows up with the initial connection. They will also identify needs that the Military Ministry or other members of the Woodmen staff can address.

Prayer Team: We are a Ministry of prayer and intercession. The Team will respond to prayer requests and initiate prayer for chaplains and the needs of our armed forces.

Support Team:  Members of this Team will come along side military members and their families to assist and support their spiritual needs. Deployment support is one critical area that will receive priority.

Discipleship Team: Spiritual growth is the fundamental core of the Military Ministry. Members of this Team may be involved in mentoring, teaching or small groups.

Administration Team: Administration falls generally into to areas, administration and events. Specific requirements will be defined as needed.

Spiritual Self-Assessment

Spiritual refers to aspects of our lives that interact with God, His kingdom and the kingdom of the evil one. The effects of these interactions govern our relationships to adversity and trauma. Spiritual fitness refers to the qualities built into us through our relationship with God that enables us to strongly resist harmful influences or assaults – physical, mental or spiritual – and to recover quickly when our defenses are breached. The self-assessment may generate questions that the Military Ministry is prepared to address.
