Woodmen Elders Update

As we look forward to welcoming new elders soon, we’re celebrating the faithful service of Bob Jackson, Bob Gibson and Rob Flanegin, who are concluding their service as part of Woodmen’s Elder Council. After two consecutive three-year terms, elders are required to roll off the council for at least one year. We want to express our deep gratitude to Bob, Bob and Rob for their faithful leadership. They’ve been key contributors to what God is doing through our church. We hope you’ll join us in thanking them.

We’re glad to welcome back Steve Ingham, who served as a Woodmen Elder in the past. Steve is a candidate to return to the Council to help shepherd us through this season. We’re also excited to introduce Jonathan Call as an Elder candidate. Please watch the video above to hear more from Pastor Josh, and check out the bios below to learn a bit about Steve and Jonathan.

Steve and his wife, Marlaine have been Woodmen attenders since 2004. They attend the Rockrimmon campus, co-lead a community group and volunteer for ACTS and Crossfire Ministries. They have two adult children. Steve serves as a board member of The Center for Strategic Ministry, a facilitator for Journey of Generosity and a board member for The Word for the World. Steve retired from the banking industry in 2022.

Jonathan and his wife, Alyssa, have been part of the Woodmen family since 2011. They attend the Monument campus, where Jonathan plays guitar on the Worship Team and serves as a men’s mentor. Alyssa is actively involved with Woodmen Kids. Jonathan leads the Translation, Publishing, and Digital Innovation teams at Biblica. The Calls have two daughters, Rylee and Reagan, who love being part of Woodmen Students and enjoy serving in Woodmen Kids. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys family, music, golf, skiing and mountain biking.

As part of our Elder selection process, over the next three months we invite you to contact Steve or Jonathan directly if you have a concern about any area in either of their lives which does not align with the Biblical standards for elders outlined in Titus, chapter 1 and First Timothy, chapter 3. If, after giving them an opportunity to respond, you feel that there is a concern that remains unresolved, please reach out to: pastors@woodmenvalley.org

Please join us in praying for our Elders as they seek to follow God’s direction and lead our community with wisdom, humility and foresight.

Woodmen Elders & Deacons

Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus."
(1 Timothy 3:13)

Woodmen is governed by an Elder Board. Josh Lindstrom, our Lead Pastor of Teaching and Vision, serves as an elder and is accountable to our elder board. Woodmen Valley Chapel is both a civil corporation and community of faith, which subscribes to the eternal truths outlined in our Statement of Faith.

The Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For the purposes of Woodmen Valley Chapel’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Elder Council is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

At Woodmen, Deacons are men and women who are selected by their Campus Pastor to serve in a variety of key leadership roles at their local campus. Deacons’ primary duties at Woodmen are focused on caring for their campus community. To be a Deacon, one must affirm and be willing to abide by Woodmen’s principles of doctrine, practice and governance.
