Connect Groups

Connect groups

Learn about a few ways to get involved with like-minded
people who share your passions.

Want to get more connected with others at Woodmen? Maybe you attend weekend services and you’re already in a community group, but you’re looking for like-minded people who share your passion for something like hiking or yoga. That's where Connect Groups come in – these are casual get-togethers in homes or out in the community.

While we don’t have a group for everything, if you're looking to build relationships and come together with friends around a common hobby or need, have a look at the list below to see if there’s a group you’d like to connect with. If you’re looking for a type of group that you don’t see listed, consider leading one!

Community Events

This is a group for all ages who like to attend concerts, go see plays, or visit museums and have other opportunities to see more in Colorado Springs.

We hope to plan 2 events each June, July and August. Depending on the participation, we might plan one event starting in the fall months. If you are interested, please email for info.

Disc golf

The Disc Golf Connect is a group of guys who just like to toss discs. We meet up the second Saturday morning of each month (weather permitting) at a local course for some good-hearted competition! We welcome disc golfers of all levels ... those who have never slung a disc to experienced players who have been slinging discs for years. We usually have extra discs for those who just want to give it a try, too!

Golf

The Woodmen Golf Connect Group provides a way to connect with other men who enjoy golf. Through golf, we want to grow in our character and patience.

Just as Jesus taught about everyday life using parallels and analogies in parables, our goal is to take practical tips from the game of golf and tie them to spiritual things.

See you at the Tee Box!

Hiking

We feel going outdoors is a pretty good way to go hang out with God. And so that's what we do May through September. We connect weekly, every Thursday night at various hiking trails around town – all under 4 miles, all less than 2 hours – and stretch our legs together, being active and soaking up God's creation, right here in our own backyard.

Would you like to join us? All you must do is show up and join in! We meet at 6:15 PM, are on-trail at 6:30 PM sharp, and finish by 8:30 PM, usually watching the sunset and feeling great. Best way to see where to meet us? Check out our schedule here –facebook.com/catalysthiking

We typically meet in the Atrium of Woodmen Heights on the fourth Friday of the month at 7 PM. Notifications are posted on Facebook and through email.

Welcome to America

“Welcome to America!” Those were the first words I heard when I entered this fantastic country.

I remember the challenges I faced when I moved from everything I knew: people, country, food, fashion and even smells. I met many amazing people who helped me adapt to a new lifestyle. I would like to get together once a month to support new Americans in adjusting to their new home. We will be meeting at different locations and sometimes sharing meals from our countries. Please reach out of you have any questions.

Widow's brunch

Join us for a Widows Brunch as we host in our home on a monthly basis! We hope to create opportunities for women who have experienced loss to build connections with others who have this shared experience. In this group, we want to serve and bless the widows within the community by offering friendship, a meal, as well as to let them know that they are not forgotten.

As you rebuild your community and relationships, we would love for you to join us!
