There’s a lot of exciting progress happening as we prepare for the grand opening of Woodmen Downtown on Easter! Check back here often for updates.
Recent highlights include our Prayer Walk, where more than 500 people from across Woodmen campuses gathered to pray over the new site. Folks walked through the building, praying and writing scriptures on the walls in rooms where kids, students and adults will experience the transforming love of Christ for decades to come.
Volunteers pulled weeds and planted new foliage, painted, assembled furniture, built fixtures, cleaned and more. And all of it came together on April 6, when the congregation gathered for our preview weekend. This sweet time of worship included a prayer of dedication for the new site. Calling on God to make it a house of hope for the flourishing of our city. The preview day also served as a "dry-run" to test out systems and allow folks to get to know their way around the campus. We'll be ready to welcome guests and provide a wonderful experience as we celebrate Jesus on Easter!
You might recall that our overall financial aim for the Able initiative is to raise $10 million. At the end of the three-year initiative, we’ll be debt free and the Downtown Campus will be an established hub for ministry in the core of our city. Pastor Josh set an initial goal: if every adult at Woodmen gave $200 by Easter, we’ll get the initiative off to a great start. We’re excited to share that the Woodmen family has already contributed more than $1.4 million!
We/re deeply grateful to those who have supported Able through prayers and gifts. While we have a long way to go, we're rejoicing in the generous giving in these opening months of the initiative. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to give, would you pray and consider how God might lead you?
