Peru 1!

The Peru team has undergone a large amount of travel in the last two days. The airplane flights were routine with one exception; The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants was a classic movie enjoyed by multiple members of the team. Once the team arrived in Iquitos, the fashion of travel went up a notch. Members gazed in awe as they travelled through the city on Moto-Bike Taxis, stunned but also excited by the unfamiliar free for all driving. At long last, the team enjoyed sleep in a comfy bed after drinking some delectable Inca Kola. Sleep did not last long, however, as the team woke up at 3:00 am the next morning to resume their affairs in travel. Beginning with a bus ride, most members slept the morning away, occasionally waking up in a dream-like state watching the lush landscape rush by. Next was the unofficial race in Moto-Bikes to our next mode of transportation, a ferry ride. Nathan, Logan, and Bodie watched joyfully as Kirby’s taxi took a wrong turn, giving them the lead that ultimately led to first place and victory. The ferry soon departed and whisked the team away on the Amazon River, helping the members take one more step towards their destination. The team took a quick pit stop to purchase water and transfer from the ferry ride to a personal boat ride that would lead them to their first village. Time flew by as the worship team treated the rest of the crew to their energetic songs about Jesus’s love. And then, there it was, the village. Countless hours of travel and sleep deprivation finally had come together to the ultimate climax… playing soccer with the kids.

After dinner we will have our first service where we are leading worship, sharing testimonies and sharing the gospel.
