HS Guatemala 2024 - Day 2

Today we started our day bright and early, but not as early as yesterday. We headed over to breakfast and had some delicious food and amazing coffee. Then after breakfast we headed out to Cruz Blanca. Our drive there was a beautiful one but also a rough one. With crazy turns and a bunch of speed bumps. After our drive we finally arrived. It is truly so beautiful here. It is so green compared to Colorado. We all headed into our groups after meeting everyone who so graciously decided to help us. Group A worked VBS today. While group B went and did home visits. The first day of VBS went AWESOME!! The kids are truly so sweet and fun to be around. They gave many hugs and many smiles. We had lunch after our first group and was able to hear more about the people who work at Unum. The second half of the day flew by with tons of laughter and many conversations. Though we may not feel like we have done something for the kids just yet. Deep down I know we have planted the seed to help their faith grow. After VBS we were able to hear testimonies which is truly life changing. Hearing everyone’s experiences and moments from the day is so important and a great way to end the night. We can’t wait to do it again tomorrow
