Montana #4
Today started with a cold surprise. We woke up in the morning to a crisp 39 degrees. Our leaders informed us that this was the coldest weather they have experienced in the 12 years since coming to Montana. Fortunately, the fruitful connections made by the missions leaders throughout the years paid dividends, as we were able to read our morning devotional in the Head Start school and be reminded that despite the challenges we face, God is with us always. We separated into three teams in the morning. One team painted the Head Start school, one team helped Morning Star Baptist Church with restoration projects, and the final team planned for VBS. The VBS proved to be both rewarding and challenging. Once again, we had a record turn out. We also separated the younger kids from the older kids, which really allowed them to get more involved in the activities according to their ages, to inquire about Christ and demonstrate their interest in learning about Him. The night ended with a Women’s Night at Morning Star Baptist Church. The women from the missions trip shared dinner with women from the community, followed with a devotional that started with worship music and after that a member of women shared the story of Hagar combined with her personal testimony to talk about how God loves us and cares unconditionally about us. Finally, the women painted rocks together to end the night. As we continue to build relationships with the people of the Northern Cheyenne community, we hope to leave the community sharing with God’s love.
