Kenya Day 5, High School 2023

Hey y’all!

Today was a fun-filled day! We woke up bright and early to go to the Kijabe Primary School! We sang and danced with the students, Jamie shared a devotional, Haylee gave her testimony, and a skit was performed portraying the Parable of the Lost Sheep. All in front of 500 kids!! Absolutely beautiful to see so many children praising God’s name this morning! We then headed back to the CURE hospital. It was Jaryn, Jamie, Jules, and I’s turn to watch a couple surgeries! My dad would be so proud lol. To say it was a cool experience is such an understatement and watching the doctors do their job so thoroughly was such a testament to their dedication to CURE and its purpose! The rest of our team spent that time in the playroom! It’s been such a joy to watch my friends use the gifts God has given them so well and uniquely this week! The playroom and ward are the central places I’ve seen so many sweet and intentional interactions which has been such a joy to watch! Also special news…ALL THE BAGS WERE FOUND! Praise the Lord for that! No more sharing pants with Madi;) Next we ate lunch and then had such a special opportunity to play with patients on the playground in progress that Woodmen is funding! After that, it was time for ward fellowship! This is one of my favorite times of the day because we get to see patients singing and praising the Lord so authentically! Tyler, Mayce, Haylee, and I got to lead them in a worship song and I was blessed with the opportunity to share a devotional! We then came back to the guest house and had 2 hours to do quiet time and whatever else you chose. If you were Austin, Jaryn, and I, that would include working out. Or as we call it jumping on the gain train! Our evening ended with dinner and our debrief. Spending time with this group of people has been so special and has truly given me such a restored fire for the Lord! Can’t wait to tell y’all more in a few days!
