Salt Lake City 2023 - Day 1 & Day 2

SALT LAKE CITY - DAY 1

After security and check in, we all boarded the plane to SLC. We had a 15 minute delay with some technical issues, but we were soon on our way. We had a few bumps but it was mostly smooth. After landing, we waited for the rental vans so to entertain ourselves we spun around a random suitcase, trying not to let it fall over. Also, we played volleyball with a random ball we found until security stopped us. We ate lunch at In-and-Out Burger. While two vehicles headed back to the Genesis Project, one van got a flat tire, and so another bus came to help. After that all happened everyone else returned to the Genesis Project, and came to watch the church service. We are so excited to serve tomorrow with Genesis Project, and love the people of SLC well!

SALT LAKE CITY - DAY 2

Today on the first full day on our mission trip we started by cleaning up a public park. Then we split up into three different groups. One of the groups went to a retirement home to comfort the elderly and play bingo with them. The next group helped clean up a local bike trail. Another group moved rocks to help clear up the space around the Genesis Project. Afterwards, we socialized with some of the Christians of Ogden to help give them more of a sense of community. Finally we closed out the day by connected with each other durning debrief. Tomorrow we have church with Genesis Project. We also get to see Alfred later in the week.
