Final Day - Fort Collins - June 2023
Today started with a bright and early morning at 6:40 am. We awoke with exhaustion and sadness to be leaving, but excitement for our comfy, warm beds and the last day of VBS. We kicked off the day with a scrumptious breakfast and a birthday celebration for MJ. We then huddled quickly for morning devo and some worship where our souls cuddled together. Students started arriving shortly after with bright smiles and SO much energy for the last day of VBS. We continued to celebrate the kids that accepted Christ into their hearts with a WILD session of worship and games and wiggles and glow sticks. The day passed quickly with great amounts of fun and excitement. After a few tears were shed whilst saying goodbye to our new friends from VBS, we speedily ate our scrumdiliumptious lunches that consisted of sandwiches for the fifth time this week and many snickey snacky wackies. Then the tear-down of western decorations began. We were speedy pants gonzales in cleaning up Genesis Project Church, where we have been blessed to be staying and serving. We then all sprinted to the vans to head to Collins Aire, the trailer park, where we celebrated and said our last goodbyes to our new friends and especially Austin, our greatest little helper. Tears were yet again shed as we knew we would miss our small community that we have grown to love over this past week. After a long, traffic filled van ride we finally reached our destination of dutch bros and chick fil a. After we stuffed our little tum tums with delicioso chicken nuggies and sammies, we headed into debrief for our last few moments together in a little grassy green garden. Tears yet again were shed as we prayed, worshipped, and studied the word of God together. After a last lit worship sesh, we hustled to relieve our bladders of stress due to our not so delicate caffeine intake. After a little party in the potty we sat our bums down in the van for our last 30 minute stretch back to woodmen to say our final prayers and goodbyes… until next time:) -slap happy Anna, Kendra, and Evelyn
