Nicaragua #7
We got together with the ladies in the church and offered a special dinner, some juice and candy and spent time sharing testimonies. We were able to sense a lot of sadness among the women. A lot of the moms live with their kids with no husband because the father many times have left. Mayela was able to share her testimony about her finding joy from God and not circumstances. We encouraged them to find joy from God because He is the only one who doesn’t fail us. Mayela was also able to share how she started her ministry with the jail in Mexico and then at Woodmen. She shared with the women that she has a son in jail and one of the ladies responded that she has one relative in jail. The women there were very touched by Mayela's testimony of her son. Through her story she reflected back on how God had prepared her for what was coming and how she found joy in Jesus. She encouraged them to do the same and to seek to help other people and their needs instead of seeing just our problems. They were very touched, and we were able to pray for them and encourage them. I was able to share about serving others through my work at Woodmen and sing a song about Gods Love for them.
