Zambia Student Trip 2022 - Days 1 & 2

Today we all woke up and enjoyed a lovely breakfast together as a team! Then we had the privilege of going to church with all of the mothers and children staying at Cure Hospital. It was beautiful worshipping with all of them and hearing their voices as they praised the Lord. We sang hymns in both Bemba and English while Pastor Terrance played the piano. We listened to a message about how all of us are Gods children and how we can all serve no matter where we are or what we do. After the church service we sat outside the Children's Ward and played with several of the children. Us girls sat and laughed our heads off with these adorable and sweet children! We absolutely loved playing with them and meeting all of them! Then we went to lunch with a few Cure staff members and had a great time talking to them and getting to know them so much better. After lunch the staff took us to an outdoor Craft Market. We walked around and saw so many of the beautiful products and art pieces that many of the vendors were selling. We all had a lot of fun looking at everything and buying souvenirs for ourselves and our friends and family! After the Craft Market we came back and played more with the kids. We showed them our phones and they had a blast looking at funny filters and taking pictures! We played with cars and gave piggyback rides and just had so much fun laughing with the kids! Despite having a language barrier between us we had a blast with all of them. We also met so many of the mothers! We loved walking through the Ward waving and greeting every mother and child we saw. At the end of the day while the sun was setting some of the mothers invited us to play a game of Netti Ball! We all had so much fun playing with them and learning this game which is very similar to basketball. A lot of the children sat on the sidelines watching their mothers play with us. We learned a lot about the mothers and had a blast playing with them! After the game we made a gourmet spaghetti dinner for the team and enjoyed our meal together. Today it was such a blessing that we were able to grow relationships with the kids, the mothers, and the staff here at Cure. It has truly been a joy to be with the children and see their sweet smiles and love on them as much as we can! Day 2 of our Zambia missions trip is officially complete!
