Zambia June Team #1

Our 41 hour journey on 9 Jun to the CURE Zambia hospital concluded midday the 11th and went very smooth.  Memorable moments on the journey ranged from Kevin nearly being devoured by a revolving door at O’Hare airport to a stranger on the plane learning about CURE somewhere over the Atlantic and donating $100.

Once at the hospital, it didn’t take long to grasp the magnitude of the mission here and garner a glimpse into the very tangible impact being made in young lives.  While crafting balloon animals for patients, the emotion and gratitude from the families for support from unknown places (like WVC) was overwhelming.

The picture is a little family we met our first day. The boy has clubfoot and is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday so we will get to interact with them more. We are excited for this journey!
