Students - Guatemala - July 21

We got to sleep in today! It was amazing for the whole team to get rested and ready for the second half of the trip! Today was a restful day besides some epic food packing competitions! Anyways, like I said, the team got to sleep in which also allowed for the very dedicated members to just have a longer quiet time! It is always so cool to see so many people intentionally spend time diving into the word and the occasional person singing or vigorously rocking back and forth to some good worship music (that was me)! After some good quiet time we went in to a delicious breakfast and then back out for another bit of time with the Lord! We then met together and had a meeting about the food we would be packing! It is a perfect combination of rice protein and vitamins and minerals designed to help kids grow and develop mentally and physically to their fullest potential! The team started packing and with a little music and lots of good attitudes, the work was flying by, so we took a break for a pizza lunch and had Ruth share her testimony! It was very impactful because she shared about how God calls people and sets upon their hearts his plan for their life; this happens a lot during the high school timeframe in someone’s life! So it was very relatable to the team! We were told that we had been working so hard and fast that they had to order extra materials so we got back to work until what we had left to use was gone! The team conquered packing food together! It is so cool to see what a group of people can do with a goal bigger than themself and a striving force of serving God through providing for the physical needs of others! Then the team had an intense “polish flip flop table game” which is around the world ping ping addition with using the floor! Then the team went back for a delicious fried chicken dinner…only it wasn’t fried chicken…which was a surprise to many of the team members! But tilapia is good too ;)! Games were attempted but the execution was poor so after a bit of a very competitive and confusing time playing signs…the team went up to the roof for some worship and a testimony. The worship is a favorite part of many peoples trip and it is truly powerful and genuine! Overall it was a great day! Especially ending it with talking about the horrors of Haribo sugar free gummy bears!!
