Students - Guatemala - July 2021 - July 15 & 16
Thursday July, 15
Hi guys it’s Tori with the first blog update! Well…we made it! The flights yesterday went well. We had an hour and a half delay…after we were seated on the plane. Most of us slept during the delay time…and then the rest of the flight. We landed safely and headed to Mimis House for a restful night.
Friday July, 16
We started our day off bright and early. Breakfast was served at 7 and we were on the bus and on our way to Cruise Blanca. Cruise Blanca is about a 45-50 minute drive from the Mimis House. The bus ride caused motion sickness to some but were all good. Today our main priority was to instal water filters to local families. Once we got to the learning center, Josh, one of the head coordinators, taught us how to assemble the water filters. We then split up into groups and were on our way. During our team meeting tonight, a lot of people agreed that the language barrier made the visits hard at first, but the smiles from the family’s made us feel very welcome. Jackson had some spiders in a pomegranate given to him by a family. Ben and Davis both were able to pray over families and for upcoming mother’s which created such a sweet moment. Most of the team felt stretched through prayer today throughout these visits. After the water filters, we headed back to the learning center for lunch. We then did construction and we’re able to strengthen our friendships within our group. Overall, was a very exciting and eye opening day for the team. The End!
