Kenya Day 3, High School 2023

Hi friends and family!

Today was our 3rd full day in Kenya and we are all loving every moment. We are all blown away by the hospitality shown to us by the Kenyan people here, and we have all realized that we can improve on our hospitality when we get home.

Today we visited New Hope Children's Home and got to see the amazing work the Lord has been doing there over the past 23 years. We were first introduced to Anne, who is the founder of the orphanage. It is so incredibly evident that she is a true woman of God and a faithful servant of others. She is such a good example of what Jesus' love looks like to the kids around her by caring for "least of these". Many of the children who are now being cared for in the Children's Home were abandoned and some literally found in dumpsters and garbage cans. As we walked into the orphanage over a hundred bright smiles welcomed us along with high fives and fist bumps. We learned about the children and what an average day looks like for them. It was really cool to see that the social worker Cecilia from the home individually knows each of the children and their stories, which was an even greater reminder that God knows all of our stories. We then headed into a local town and got some supplies for those of us who don't have personal care items due to a delay with some of our baggage. We then headed back to cure for ward fellowship (a daily devotional with the overnight hospital patients) where Tyler and Iris and Halley led a song, and where Tyler shared from Gods word. Then we had dinner, and debrief. My heart is so full and we are so ready to serve again tomorrow.

P.S. Please be praying for our lost luggage and that we get it really soon

With love,

-Mayce :)
