Philippines Day 7

Today was our last day at CURE :( We started the morning by practicing for the staff chapel that our team had the pleasure of leading. Katie and I led three worship songs, Paige prayed, and Elizabeth shared a message from Matthew 6:25-27. Afterward, we had the opportunity to share words of gratitude and encouragement with the staff. It was so sweet to worship alongside them and see how many staff members came to the optional chapel they offer every Friday.

After chapel, we headed up to the clinic for our usual routine with the kids. We sang two songs, put on a puppet show, and did a craft about the creation story. Our special surprises for the day were balloon animals and stickers, which were a hit! Some of the kids were especially curious about the puppets, balloons, and stickers, making for some fun moments. Our team also got to hold lots of babies and spend time with some of the kids and watchers from the rest homes we had met earlier in the week, which was super sweet.

To wrap up our time at CURE, we had a final debrief with Sir Peter and MaryAnn before walking around the hospital to say goodbye to the staff we had spent the week with. Saying goodbye is so bittersweet. We’re ready to come home to our people in Colorado, but it’s hard to leave the new friends who have made this week so special. We’re so grateful for the time we’ve gotten to spend with them!
