Tulsa - July 2026 - Day 5
Today was another fun day in Tulsa, Oklahoma for our mission trip group. We started out with breakfast in the morning and packing lunch for later in the day. After breakfast, one of the students, Hosanna, led us on a wonderful Bible study, which was a great opportunity to see how God influences us to see several meanings of his words in the Bible. After our morning devotional, we headed out to the homeless shelter, where we chatted with the workers who work in the shelter. After chatting for a bit, we started discussing some eye-opening questions I had never thought of, such as the fact that most homeless people fall on hard times because they are so desperate to be with someone else that they will do almost anything to avoid being alone. It was such a blessing to see these kind, gentle people that had fallen on hard times be supported and taught by John 3:16. After that, we went to Sonic and Taco Bell to get some snacks and prepare for the next part of our day. After that, we headed to the church to run VBS for the kids. Today was especially exciting because it was water day and the local fire department came to help. They sprayed water for the kids to run through, and everyone had a fun time cooling off in the Oklahoma heat. It was amazing to see the joy on the kids’ faces and how excited they were to spend time with us while learning about God. Once the VBS was over we returned to Kirk of the Hills church, where we were staying to rest and play some games together as a group. We ended the day with our nightly debrief where some students shared testimonies about how they had seen God working in their life. Hearing everyone’s stories was encouraging and remined us that God is working in so many ways. We are excited to see how God works in us all tomorrow!
