Zambia 2026 Day 4

Hello my brother and sisters,

(All of the Zambians call us their siblings here.) 

We started our day off by going to our devotional groups where we got to go over Luke 15 and learn about the story of the Lost Sheep, Lost son, and Lost Coin. Afterwards we split into our service groups. Teagan, Kendra, and Eve were in the kitchen for the second day in a row and made some really fire lunch. They got to connect really well with the employees in the kitchen.

Then Sadie and Izzy were in the Laundry room and talked with some of the employees where they got to hear some of their testimonies. Izzy tried to explain what Costco is, but they didn't really understand.

Me (Sam), Mae, and Zac were in the children's ward where they stay waiting to go to surgery. We got to play lots of games and Kirby was doing magic tricks and of course Zac finally mastered how to make Balloon animals. Me and Mae got to experience and awesome opportunity where we got to witness two live surgeries. We saw an Ear surgery where they took cartilage and reconstructed a new ear drum. We also got to watch a bowtie legs or Rickets surgery where they drilled into the girls legs and put screws. 

Meanwhile during the surgery, SPIDERMAN appeared and made little girls cry. Teagan had dressed up and was going around hanging out with the kids as Spiderman and most of the kids liked it but some didn't. Don't worry he wore shorts over the suit.

We then got to eat the cooking squads lunch and had Shima and beans. After lunch we then went to the chapel room in the hospital and we got to sing and dance with the hospitals choir. We are going to perform the dance tomorrow at chapel. 

In the late morning Kirby went to the airport and we got 5 out of our 6 team bags. Thank you guys so much for praying so diligently about us receiving our supplies. We received word that our other bag arrived.

For the afternoon we got to work with the maintenance guys and paint no parking spots and repainted parking blocks and Kirby wouldn't stop painting the sidewalk (lies. Quality control was lacking).

For dinner we got to do a staff barbecue and sat around a fire under a teepee like structure. We shared our life stories, ate great barbecue chicken, and shared embarrassing stories. We learned a lot about Zambian culture and then we came back to the guest house and Mae and Kirby shared their amazing testimonies. And we went to sleep zzzz.
