Kenya July 26 - Day 5
Howdy!
Today was our second day at the hospital, and it was amazing! This morning we split into groups of two to go join each departments morning devotional. After the devotionals, we gathered as a group and then split up again to go to our separate departments where we helped out for the day. I was assigned to help out in the kitchen and it was so fun! We made lots of food and witnessed just how much it's needed to run the hospital. The kitchen crew was extremely welcoming and friendly and (despite my less than perfect cutting), were quick to compliment us and express their gratitude towards us. After working there for a number of hours, we took a break for lunch around 12:30. Elleigh and I spent a little extra time helping to serve lunch to patients in the wards, but then we joined the rest of the team around 1. At lunch we saw baboons for the first time as they were just walking through the hospital grounds. In the afternoon we again spent time playing with the kids and parents in the courtyard area. Afterwards, we took a quick break for more Kenyan Chai before joining Philip in the ward for fellowship time. We worshiped together and listened to Elleigh’s impactful devotional about the parable of the sower. After that we made our way back to the guest house, and spent time together as a team and ate dinner. It was such a blessing to be able to see the servitude that the staff at CURE displayed today, and it makes me so encouraged to see their constant enthusiasm. Thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts, and we would greatly appreciate more. The Lord is good! We are eepy deepy weepy sleepy and are going to bed now!
Much love,
