Fort Collins - VBS Day 1!!!

Today we woke up early in the morning, enjoyed some breakfast and a Bible study. Then at 9 o’clock kids started coming to Genesis Project for summer camp! We ended up having more kids than expected with around 45 showing up. The kids worshipped, played games and had crafts. The kids then all headed home around noon and then we quickly ate a lunch and split up to do different service projects. One group went to 6.8 ministries a food and resource center for people in need. We did a variety of tasks from filling trucks, folding shirts and stocking shelves. Back at Genesis Project the other group of us worked on the playground cleaning and pulling weeds. This playground is used by a lot of kids in the trailer home park behind the church. We had a huge pile of mulch that we used to fill the playground with to make it look nice. We then met back together for dinner and an awesome testimony by a man at the church named Toby. Then we worshiped, debriefed and had small group. We are tired but so excited to see how God will work!
