Fort Collins Day 1

Bright and early at 5am we gathered at Woodmen Valley Chapel, packed up our vans and headed up to Fort Collins. We arrived with little time to gather our stuff until we were welcomed warmly by the Genesis Project (GP) congregation. GP has a monthly service day when members from the congregation gather to go do various service projects throughout their local community, we were lucky to participate in one of these days. After eating a quick breakfast we headed to Heritage Christian Academy with some other volunteers to assist the school facility manager Bob in cleaning the school. Even though our team was running off a couple hours of sleep and a morning of travel we got to work. We did a variety of things such as rebuilding fences, spreading rocks, cleaning classrooms and a lot of other miscellaneous tasks. Then our team enjoyed some lunch back at GP to then shortly head back to Heritage to finish our work. Later that afternoon we completed our tasks and headed to dinner. We got Chick-fil-a, talked to some Mormons, and Kirby almost gave us a free thanksgiving meal by almost hitting a turkey on the road. After getting back to GP we got to listen to Pastor Rob, the founding pastors testimony. We finished off with some Bible reading and a team debrief. We are all excited to see how God will work this upcoming week!
