Peru 2
Dear diary,
Today we had a nice and early morning wake up, and started the day off with a devotional and a breakfast of eggs, avocado, and bread. Then we packed up all of our stuff and headed to the boat.
This was considered the “big boat” that us and our Peruvian partners rode in to head to our first community. The boat ride, though I am not complaining, was quite long. (3 hours) But we were able to take naps and sit at the very front of the boat while taking our travel down river.
After our long boat ride (and Kirby’s interesting music choices) we arrived at our first community. There we were able to unload everything from the boat, set up our cots, and have lunch. For today’s lunch it was fish and rice, and for Jackson a fish eyeball.
Once we finished eating, we headed out into the community. There we colored with the kids, painted nails, and got really into volleyball. Now
we had a lot k,g kk of confidence, but didn’t always win. But it’s the thought that counts. We are all so excited to be in our first community and can’t wait to see all that the Lord is going to do.
