More than we can ask or imagine …

Years ago we started finishing our basement, but were on a very limited budget. We prayed for God’s guidance on how and where to spend our finances. God repeatedly sent “deals” our way making provision for our budget to go farther that it normally would have. Fast forward 5 years. Last summer my husband got laid off from his job. Yes, it was a surprise. We prayed God would show us how to use an even more limited budget. How, could we make ends meet? Things happened within that time span that only He could coordinate, provide, and intentional show us that he saw us and had our back.

He peeked our interest in purchasing a quarter of a side of beef the November prior, he prompted us to purchase a car that got between 30-35 MPG to drive when gas was up around $4-5 per gallon and the vehicles we owned were both large: a Tahoe and a King-cab ¾ ton Diesel Truck. We had just stocked up on household items, groceries, etc., friends and family were overtly generous and kind. We were prayed for regularly by so many people. We were challenged and through that trusted God even more deeply.

My husband got a job offer and accepted but wasn’t completely excited about it. Out of his amazing need to be a provider he accepted it even though it didn’t start for 3 months and no paycheck between the acceptance date and start date. He diligently kept looking, we prayed and trusted. Another month-and-a-half later another job offer came. He was excited about this one and it was a good fit. God’s blessing and provision in this season was great, exceptional, unexplainable and yet so very deeply loving.

We are now a couple weeks on this side of Easter, God’s greatest provision for us was fulfilled. We can be thankful for God’s gift which is more that we can ask or imagine. Eph 3:20

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly that all that we ask for think, according to the power at work within us.”
