Philippines #2
We have only spent one day at the hospital so far, and yet my heart is already abundantly overflowing with gratitude for the time we are spending at CURE. Today as we did ministry in the ward, the Lord met me in a conversation with a recently widowed mother of three. Her little boy is awaiting surgery tomorrow and I got the privilege to sit and be a listening ear to the mother as she shared a bit of her story. Although she is amidst a valley, her heart is looking for Hope in something beyond herself and I can see her searching for that eternal relationship with the Father in ways she shared she hadn’t in the past. She is clinging to the Lord and knows that “He is always good, even when life is not.” What an important reminder for us all… As I held her hand to pray, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the kindness of the Lord in my own story of the valley and the encouragement this woman was to me.
I ask that you pray for this sweet momma and her three kids as they continue to process and navigate the loss of a dad/husband. I also ask for peace beyond circumstance for this mom and that she goes to the Lord to be her fortress and refuge. Lastly, prayers for her little boy as he is having his third cleft lip/palette surgery tomorrow.
