Dominican Republic 2025

Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic

We arrived in Santiago, Dominican Republic on Sunday to serve with Students International. We were blessed with good travel and all of our flights left and arrived on time. We enjoyed a bus ride from the airport to the beautiful mountain region of Jarabacoa. When we arrived to the ministry base, we joined dozens of other students and leaders that we would later get to know serving together throughout the week.

On Monday we learned more about the occupational sites where we serve for the week and met the full time missionary leaders. Jeff is serving at the boys baseball site, Patricia is working in women’s social work and Peggy serves in microfinance. After a quiet time and devotional in the morning we met with our occupational site teams that consisted of other students and leaders from other churches. We spent the day working with the full time staff by encouraging them and spending time with the people they serve. As we traveled to the different communities, we met with people and heard their stories of struggle and of hope. At times we walked beside the people by physically helping with a task and other times we would share how Jesus has worked in our own lives over a delicious cup of Dominican coffee.

We appreciate your prayers and look forward to serving the rest of the week.

Peggy, Jeff, and Patricia
