Zambia JULY 2025

Hey Gang, today was our first day serving with the kids at the hospital. We started our morning with daily devo with the Cure staff and other volunteers, truly awesome start to the day! After that, we got a tour of the compound, got to see the different departments( Orthopedics, ENT, Plastic, Theater(Surgery department). We then split into different groups, some helping make Lunch, others doing laundry, and hanging out with kids. Later on, the whole team got back together, in which we all entertained a group of kids with big bubbles, beautiful balloon animals dogs and giraffes (even though most of them were supposed be dogs), and face painted. After that we went and got some yummy lunch(featuring nshima which is basically play-doh consistency, NO FORKS ALLOWED). Next, we got the chance to share some time with all the families of kids going through surgeries and their parents. This entailed an amazing puppet show about Daniel and the Lion's den and Jesus feeding the five-thousand(featuring Daniel as Daniel). We then colored with all of them and entered into a time of sharing our cultures.  We sang some dope songs together, danced, and Brekken ended up winning a dance competition. Before we ate dinner we played volleyball with Auntie Lillian, and Pastor Terrance. We then went back to the geust house and ate, did our quiet time and reflected over the day.

Overall it was a super great day and we saw God work in awesome ways through the community here. He has really helped us feel at home and so welcome by all the people here. We can't wait to see what God has for us tomorrow.
