College Guatemala Day 2

Today, we experienced a slight change to our original plans. And on mission trips positive surprises are usually God moments, where we pay attention to see what God is doing.

We worshipped together as a team and then our team leader. Karen set the tone for the week by digging into Hebrews 11, faith and the life of Abraham. We will be using the life of Abraham as a model for our four days of VBS this week. After our service concluded we got to hear from Josh Chamale, the President of Unum Intl and his vision for Unum.

The slight change to our original plans is that we got to paint the inside of two classrooms at Los Verdes today (Los Verdes is one of four Unum projects). The work was hot, but everyone chipped in and the finished product certainly livened up the classrooms.

After then driving to our hotel we were greeted in spectacular fashion as a young man proposed to his girlfriend with fireworks and a mariachi band on the lawn of the hotel.

As we get to work tomorrow we will see what fireworks God has in store for us. We are looking forward to seeing our friends in Jicamapa again.

In love,

Brian Wilson
