Family Resources

God has entrusted you as the spiritual leaders to your kids and Woodmen Kids wants to equip and support you in that effort. We have added some resources for you to teach your kids their Bible lessons each week and will continue to add new curriculum each week to this page.

We would love to see what you all are doing together. Please take pictures of your family acting out the Bible stories or doing worship response together and post them on Instagram or Facebook to #woodmenathome.

Since we can't meet in person, please enjoy the following worship videos with your family. We can’t control the ads you might find on YouTube, so please watch with your children as sometimes the ones that pop are not age appropriate.

Grab your kids and listen to these encouraging songs throughout the day!

how to have conversations about race with your kids

    • Get out some paper and crayons. (Did you know that Crayola makes skin tone crayons?) Have your child make a picture of himself and other members of your family. What color are you? Draw others you know: neighbors, friends, someone on TV. Talk about how God created everyone and God loves everyone. You can use beautiful words to describe people: chocolate, vanilla, deepest almond, medium golden, light rose. Pray together to thank God that He is so creative. -This podcast is from a Christian viewpoint. It’s from the founder of “Be the Bridge” that is offered through WoodmenU, Latasha Morrison. Next time you’re making burgers on the grill, keep some raw meat handy. When you have all the burgers grilled, and the kids are ready to eat, offer them the raw meat. Bleh, no thanks! Sometimes we have to go through the fire to become what God wants us to be.

While you’re eating your yummy dinner, you can talk about how hard times, or going through the fire, make us better believers. God needs to shape us into He wants us to be.

      • What are some hard times you have been going through lately? Take time to think it through. Get deep: No school? No church? Can’t play with friends? Did friends hurt your feelings? Out of a job? No sports?
      • How can God use those hard times to make you into who He wants you to be? What have you learned through this time? Are you reacting in a way that will help you grow?
      • Read James 1:2-4 “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
